To appeal to online gamers used to virtual cards, chips and dealers, casinos are giving a good look at automated electronic table systems, such as Shuffle Master’s Table Master System, and DigiDeal’s VTS Table Games. With virtual cards and chips, both systems double the pace of popular table games, and thus the excitement to players. The VTS system even includes a dice game, in which players can throw virtual dice from a shaking cup by pressing the touch screen on the table.
“These virtual systems go one step beyond the experience one gets online,” said Dave Krise, vice president and creative director at Spokane, Wash.-based DigiDeal. “You interact with other players, cheering each other on, and making new friends. It’s more fun when you share the experience. You might play against dozens of other people online, but you never see or hear them.”
